My name is Rene, and I created Sule!
Just a little bit about me...
As a former teacher, Rene Rawls crafts stories that engage kids in refreshingly fun ways. Her animated short film, Sule and the Case of the Tiny Sparks, was produced by the Mandela Day/Tribeca All Access Award, and she is a Fred Rogers Writers’ Neighborhood Fellow. Rene has written for Lyla in the Loop and will continue to develop stories for preschool/bridge audiences.
Rene understands the importance of social-emotional learning and is determined to bring more images of Black boys to preschool programming. Rene has earned two graduate degrees, is a graduate of Hampton University and loves being asked by kids to create more content.
